Modernization of 77 trains co-financed by the European Union

On the 12th of December 2013 The Centre for EU Transport Projects  and the company „Koleje Mazowieckie – KM” sp. z o.o. (ltd.) signed an agreement on co-financing of the project called „The modernization of electric multiple units for transport services for passengers on regional routes and in the area of Warsaw agglomeration” within the measure 7.3: Public transport in the metropolitan area”, Priority VII: Environmentally friendly transport, Operational Programme „Infrastructure and Environment 2007-2013”.

The agreement was signed by:

  • Mr. Paweł Szaciłło – Acting Director of the Centre for EU Transport Projects
  • Mr. Artur Radwan – Chairman of the Board of the company „Koleje Mazowieckie – KM” sp. z o.o. (ltd.)
  • Mr. Andrzej Buczkowski – Board member, Finance Director of the company „Koleje Mazowieckie – KM” sp. z o.o. (ltd.)

The project concerns the modernization of the rolling stock – 77 pieces of Electric Multiple Units EN57 in order to ensure the high quality of passenger transport in the area of Masovian Voivodeship.

According to the agreement EU grant for the project will amount to 116 million zlotych.
