The purchase of 16 modern trains by the company „Koleje Mazowieckie – KM” co-financed by the European Union

The agreement was signed by:

  • Mr. Paweł Szaciłło – Acting Director of the Centre for EU Transport Projects
  • Mr. Artur Radwan – Board member, Operating Director of the company „Koleje Mazowieckie – KM” sp. z o.o. (ltd.)
  • Mr. Andrzej Buczkowski – Board member, Finance Director of the company „Koleje Mazowieckie – KM” sp. z o.o. (ltd.)

The project concerns the purchase of 16 four-carriage electric multiple units in order to ensure the high quality of transport in the area of the airports: Warsaw Chopin Airport and Warsaw–Modlin Mazovia Airport as well as the agglomeration transport in a corridor of modernized route E-65 and the Warsaw agglomeration.

EU grant for the project will amount to 183 million zlotych.

Modern trains purchased by Koleje Mazowieckie and offering the high travel quality have been used since 2011. It influenced on widening the existing carriage offer on route E-65 in the area of the Warsaw agglomeration.
