Group trips

Group trips provide the possibility of cheaper travel for organised groups. They allow 2nd class travel on the Mazowieckie Railways (excluding special tariff trains) with up to 50% discount.

Who can benefit from group trips?

Groups organised by schools, colleges, travel agencies, companies, associations, church parishes, care facilities, etc., consisting of at least 10 people, not including the escorts.

Discounts for escorts/carers

For every group of 10 participants in purchasing a ticket with a 50% discount, the escort benefits from a free journey. If the number of escorts is greater, then the 50% discount is applicable. Participants of group trips having individual rights to larger concessions (e.g. 78%) than those resulting from paragraph 3, are not to be included in the group whose size determines the number of escorts/carers entitled to a free journey.

The procedure for organising group trips

The discount is applied on the basis of a "Group Trip Card" (template No. 54), issued free of charge at the Mazowieckie Railway’s ticket counters. The completed application must be submitted at the ticket office at least 24 hours, before the intended date of departure.

On the basis of a "Group Trip Card” the ticket office issues the ticket for the group trip applying the discount – only in the class, dates and in the specified coverage in this application. During an inspection on the train the person responsible for the group and in conjunction with the ticket to travel with the appropriate coverage, is also required to present the "Group Trip Card”, which acknowledges the entitlement to the discounted travel.

Additional Information

• KM (Mazowieckie Railways) may refuse to issue permission for group trips on the high-frequency trains or on a train, for which permission was previously issued for other group travel.
• It is not allowed: to transfer to 1^st class, to travel beyond the destination station indicated on the ticket, to travel on other or longer routes, and also to transfer to a train of another operator.
