Training on a train simulator type 22WEe - 76

The company „Koleje Mazowieckie – KM” sp. z o.o. (ltd.) has one of the most modern train simulators and at the same time the only one in the country electric simulator of traction 22WEe – EN76 „Elf”. The simulator is located in the area of one of the Warsaw operating sections, i.e. Section of Track Repair and Operations Warsaw Ochota, 5 Mszczonowska Street in Warsaw.

The purchase of the simulator was necessary due to the generally applicable law which accepts using a simulator during the vocational training for an engine driver position, as well as in the nearest future due to the obligation to use a simulator during further education for employees who have this qualification. Taking into consideration the necessity of continuous improvement and the verification of engine drivers' qualification, the simulator can be also used to check an engine driver's reaction and behavior in unusual and rare situations as well as the verification of behavior of a driver who has taken part in a train accident before allowing him to work again.

Our simulator meets the rules specified in the Minister of Infrastructure and Development Ordinance of 23 October 2014 (Article 6 Paragraph 2) under the training and exam centers for engine driver candidates. The training on the simulator can include driving a train on visualized routes being a reflection of the real rail routes: Warszawa Wschodnia – Warszawa Zachodnia (intercity and suburban lines), Warszawa Zachodnia – Piaseczno, Warszawa Wschodnia – Sulejówek Miłosna, Warszawa Wschodnia – Legionowo, which can be freely configured, with a view through a windscreen, while reproducing both typical and untypical operating, technical and weather scenarios, in particular a train breakdown, difficult weather conditions, improper functioning of componentry, a train accident or defects of train traffic controllers.

A simulator's hall was divided into two parts: a technical-training one, where there are devices being the components of the simulator, incl. a reflection of a driver's cab, and an administrative one, where there is a stand of an inspector who controls and verifies the training process and an operator who prepares and operates the simulator. Taking into consideration the small amount of train simulators available on the Polish market, especially electric traction simulators, the company „Koleje Mazowieckie – KM” sp. z o.o. (ltd.) encourages involved persons working on a rail market as well as railway enthusiasts to cooperate in the range of the training on the train simulator.
