37% reduction is available to:

  1. Children aged 4 and above, until the start of their compulsory annual pre-school preparatory education, as certified by a document proving the child's age, a certificate of postponement of compulsory education, issued by the headmaster of a public primary school or a pre-school ID card for a disabled child - on routes other than ones from the place of residence or place of stay to a kindergarten, school, college, an education and care centre, special education and care centre, centre enabling children and youth to fulfil their compulsory education and learning duties, rehabilitation-education centre, social assistance home, support centre, health care centre, psychological and educational counselling centre, including specialist counselling centres, or to and from a rehabilitation retreat.
  2. Children aged 4 and above, until the start of their compulsory annual pre-school preparatory education, with disabilities and handicaps, on routes other than ones from the place of residence or place of stay to a kindergarten, school, college, an education and care centre, special education and care centre, centre enabling children and youth to fulfil their compulsory education and learning duties, rehabilitation-education centre, social assistance home, support centre, health care centre, psychological and educational counselling centre, including specialist counselling centres, or to and from a rehabilitation retreat,
    as certified by a document proving the child's age, a certificate of postponement of compulsory education, issued by the headmaster of a public primary school or a pre-school ID card for a disabled child - on routes other than the ones listed above.
  3. Children and adolescents in the period from the start of their compulsory one-year pre-school education to the completion of primary or high school - public or non-public, with the rights of a public school, up to the age of 24, on the basis of a certificate of completion of compulsory annual pre-school education, issued by the entity providing pre-school education or a school ID card (single tickets and KM timed zone tickets).
  4. Children and adolescents, up to the age of 18, during the period of study of the Polish literature, history, geography, Polish culture or other subjects taught
    in Polish language at schools functioning in the educational systems of other countries, with a student ID card issued by the consul of the Republic of Poland competent for the seat of the school, presented along with a document certifying the identity and age of the eligible person.
  5. Children and adolescents, from the start of their one-year pre-school education until the age of 24, with disabilities or handicaps, attending school, in connections other than from their place of residence or place of stay to a kindergarten, school, university, care centre, educational institution, special educational centre, centre enabling children and adolescents to fulfil their compulsory schooling and educational duties, rehabilitation and educational centre, social care home, support centre, health care centre, psychological and educational counselling centre, including specialist counselling centres or to a rehabilitation retreat - and back, with a certificate confirming the fulfilment of the compulsory annual pre-school education, issued by the entity providing pre-school education, or with a school ID card (single tickets and KM timed zone tickets).
  6. Parent(s) or spouse of a parent - holding a Large Family Card within the meaning of the Large Family Card Act, for travel on KM trains with a single use ticket accompanied by a valid Large Family Card, presented together with an identity card or other document confirming the identity of the eligible person.
  7. Blind persons, if they are not considered incapable of independent existence, that is, persons declared completely incapable of work, persons with a moderate degree of disability and persons with a disability classified in disability group II (provided that the certificate of classification in this group has not expired) due to a condition of the sight - with one of the foregoing documents certifying complete incapacity for work or a moderate degree of disability, or disability of group II, due to a visual impairment:
  • an extract from the decision of the medical committee for invalidity and employment, stating that the person is classified in group II of disability,
  • an extract from the decision of: the military medical commission, the medical commission subordinate to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration or the Head of the Internal Security Agency or the Head of the Foreign Intelligence Agency, stating that the person is classified in group II of disability,
  • a certificate from a doctor of the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS), or an extract from the certificate of a doctor of the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS), stating complete inability to work,
  • the decision of the Social Insurance Institution medical committee stating complete inability to work,
    a certificate of moderate disability due to a visual impairment issued by an authorised body,
  • a certificate from the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) stating that the person has been classified in group II of disability by a court judgement or has been declared completely incapable of working,
  • an extract from the decision of an expert doctor or the medical commission of the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (KRUS) stating complete inability to work,
  • a certificate from the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (KRUS) stating that the person has been classified in group II of disability by a court judgement or has been declared completely incapable of working,
  • an identity card of a retired police employee issued by a competent retirement and disability pension authority subordinate to the Minister of the Interior and Administration or the Minister of Justice, with an entry stating that the employee has been classified in group II of disability,
  • an identity card of a retired police employee issued by a competent retirement authority subordinate to the Minister of National Defence, with an entry stating that the employee has been classified in group II of disability,
  • an identity card of a retired army employee issued by a competent retirement authority subordinate to the Minister of National Defence, with an entry stating that the employee has been classified in group II of disability,
  • a disabled person's identity card certifying a moderate degree of disability due to a visual impairment, or a certificate of moderate disability due to a visual impairment, issued by an authorised body.

Documents without a photograph shall be presented along with an identity card or any other document allowing to confirm the identity of the eligible person.

  1. Pensioners and their spouses for which family benefits are received - two journeys per calendar year, with a certificate, which is a strict registration document, issued respectively by:
  • the local units of the Polish Association of Pensioners and Persons with Disabilities,
  • NSZZ Solidarność regional committees of pensioners,
  • the Independent National Trade Union in Poland - 'Solidarity of Veterans of Labour',
  • the Main Board and local branches of the Association of Pensioners and Pensioners 'Solidarność 80',
  • provincial and regional councils of labour veterans of the Polish National Trade Union Agreement,
  • the Independent Association of Future and Current Pensioners - 'Veterans of Labour',
  • provincial boards of the Association of Police Pensioners,
  • boards and divisions of the Association of Former Professional Soldiers and Reserve Officers of the Polish Army,
  • district sections of pensioners of the Polish Teachers' Union,
  • Trade Union of Employees of the Supreme Chamber of Control,
  • the National Commission and boards of the regions of the Father Jerzy Popiełuszko Christian Trade Union 'Solidarność',
  • provincial boards of the Association of Retired Fire Fighters of the Republic of Poland,
  • provincial branches of the Union of Soldiers of the People's Army of Poland,
  • local units of the National Union of Pensioners of the Prison Services.

The certificates shall be presented along with an identity card or any other document allowing to confirm the identity of the eligible person.

  1. Persons belonging to group II or group III of disability, or completely or partially incapable of work, with a book of war-military disability, which is issued by the competent branch of the Social Insurance Institution, with a relevant entry stating that they are classified in group II or group III of disability (or with an entry stating that they are completely or partially incapable of work).
  2. Injured veterans - pursuant to Article 30 section 1 item 2 of the Act of 19 August 2011 on veterans of operations outside the national borders (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2019, 1569 as amended), with one of the documents listed below certifying eligibility for reduced fare travel:
  • identity card of injured veteran,
  • identity card of injured veteran – officer,
  • identity card of injured veteran – officer of the Internal Security Agency,
    along with proof of identity.
  1. Civilian visually impaired victims of war activities declared completely incapable of work, with a card of a civilian visually impaired victim of war activities,
    with the appropriate entry (incapacity for independent existence or complete incapacity for work), issued by the pension authority.
  2. Holders of the Card of the Pole, with a valid Card of the Pole.
